Hi, I’m Aletheia.

I have been working with museums and non-profits over the last 15 years. I partner with people and teams in cultural organizations navigating internal transformation and using institutional genealogy to take action. Since 2012 I have codirected The Incluseum project (learn more about The Incluseum here).

I’ve held roles in interpretation and exhibits at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Seattle, WA as well as exhibits, youth, and family programs at Seattle Architecture Foundation (SAF). I received my MA from the University of Washington where I researched emerging curatorial practice in art museums and how those practices engage with social justice issues.

More about me.

I live in Seattle, the ancestral lands of the Duwamish People, and honor with gratitude the land itself, the Duwamish Tribe, and all Coast Salish peoples past and present.

I believe institutional transformation requires our recognition of existing structures and legacies that uphold systems of oppression. For me, addressing these legacies means co-creating new ways of working that foster relationship-centered approaches that can lead our organizations toward more inclusive futures, racial equity, and social justice.

As a white person, I am in ongoing reflection on my unique roles & responsibilities, limitations & opportunities, within the collective work of transforming arts & cultural heritage spaces and organizations. I strive to speak openly, transparently and reflectively about my identities and how they inform my work.
