Let’s work together.

The work I do with museums, arts, and cultural heritage organizations focuses in two areas:

Inclusive Transformation: I understand inclusive transformation as an ongoing process of opening up to new ways of being and doing that is grounded in collaborative inquiry, social justice, self-reflection on institutional legacies, and care-centered values.

Institutional Genealogy: I define institutional genealogy as the process of assessing an organization’s origins, ancestors and older forms to understand institutional legacies of inequity and exclusion and how to respond to them today.

To support organizations in these areas I offer:

  • Whether you want an opportunity for staff to reflect on how their organization’s past is informing its present and future or you want to generate a unique approach inclusive transformation rooted in experiences, curiosity, and shared values, I can offer workshop plans and facilitation methods to support the process.

  • Is your organization coming to terms with institutional legacies or ready to start? Are you encountering new challenges and opportunities as someone working within an organization in the midst of inclusive transformation? I can offer a supportive space for you (or your team) to make meaningful progress addressing emerging realities you face in your unique role, department, and organization.

  • I can help you turn history-oriented assessment into action. I use the Institutional Genealogy Framework, a 5-step assessment process I designed to be approachable, purposeful, reflective, and rooted in a commitment to inclusive transformation. I offer both self-directed resources you can use at your own pace (an Institutional Genealogy Framework Subscription) as well as comprehensive project design and support. More details on these options can be found on the Institutional Genealogy page, which can be found in the site menu.
